"To Beep or Not to Beep" sweeps division Saturday and Sunday

The Queen City Road Runners flyball team "To Beep or Not to Beep" takes first place in "Jingle Bell Jump" flyball tournament hosted by Birmingham Bandits.

The Queen City Road Runners flyball team "To Beep or Not to Beep" finished in first place in the "Jingle Bell Jump" flyball tournament hosted by the Birmingham Bandits December 12 and 13. The tournament was help in Shocco Springs, near Talladega, Al.

Team "To Beep or Not to Beep" also set a new best time for the Queen City Road Runners of 20.8 seconds. Three dogs earned new titles; Katie earned Flyball Master, Monty earned Flyball Dog Champion - Gold, and Sophie earned Flyall Dog Excellent. This was the first time Sophie competed in a tournament. The Road Runners also had four dogs post a new personal best time; Blue ran a 4.2, Katie ran a 4.6, Sophie ran a 5.6 and Taz turned in a 5.7.

The Queen City Road Runners are proud of all their dogs and handlers. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

New Flyball Master!

...and the club's second FM.

Katie is a Lab mix that survived Hurricanes Katrina and Rita before she was five months old. Deborah Yoder of the Queen City Road Runners flyball club adopted her and enrolled her in flyball class to help her gain confidence and to keep her busy.

Katie raced with team "To Beep of Not to Beep" at the "Jingle Bell Jump" flyball tournament hosted by the Birmingham Bandits. The tournament was held in Shocco Springs, near Talladega, Al. Katie ran 11 races error free, posted a new personal best time of 4.6, and earned her Flyball Master title. The Flyball Master title is awarded to dogs that accumulate 5000 points.

We are proud of Deborah and Katie, and they are a big part of our success!
