Monty, a pure-bred Whippet owned and handled by Queen City Road Runner member Gail Ball, earned his Flyball Master title at the recent 2010 Athens Dawg Derby flyball tournament in Athens, Ga.
Double Dog Dare of Ga hosts the Athens Dawg Derby each year, drawing competitors from all over the South East.
Monty ran second position on the Queen City Road Runners "Just Plain Beep" team. This team competed in the Regular class of competition and placed first in Division Four(4). Monty and Gail have been playing flyball for three years, and this title is a first major milestone in flyball competition. The Flyball Master title recognizes 5000 points earned in his career as a flyball racing dog.
Monty is the fourth Flyball Master on the Queen City Road Runners flyball club.
